Receive Child Support
ORS sends child support payments to custodial parents electronically.
You have two ways to receive those payments:
- On a Utah Debit MasterCard®. This is the default way of receiving payments
- By direct deposit to your bank account. You have to tell us if you want direct deposit. We charge no fees for direct deposit
Receiving payments electronically is fast, convenient, and secure. The law also requires us to send payments this way. ORS only sends checks in very limited situations.
How Does Direct Deposit Differ from the Utah Debit MasterCard®?

Receiving Child Support and Cash Assistance Benefits
Custodial parents cannot get direct child support payments in the same month as Cash Assistance or Medical Assistance. In Utah, Cash Assistance may also be called TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) or FEP (Family Employment Program).
