FINANCIAL INSTITUTION DATA MATCH (FIDM)

The law requires ORS to conduct data matches with banks and other financial institutions. We do this to find assets of people on our caseload who have child support debt.

How we make those data matches depends in part on whether the financial institution does business in multiple states or only one.

Multi-State Financial Institutions (MSFIs)

The law requires ORS to conduct data matches with banks and other financial institutions. We do this to find assets of people on our caseload who have child support debt.

How we make those data matches depends in part on whether the financial institution does business in multiple states or only one.

Single-State Institutions

The law authorizes ORS to set up data matches with financial institutions doing business in Utah.

ORS conducts data matches with financial institutions doing business in Utah through the FIDM Alliance, managed by Informatix, Inc.

Utah financial institutions must complete the Financial Institution Data Matching Program Agreement with ORS. These agreements are valid for 5 years.

FIDM Match Cost Reimbursement

ORS will reimburse a financial institution for the actual cost of the data match up to $150.00 every quarter.

To receive reimbursement, financial institutions must:

  • Complete the FIDM Program Reimbursement Request Form
  • Include an invoice that details the institution’s actual costs for conducting the match
  • Send the completed form and invoice to ORS within 30 days of the end of the quarter. (In other words, we need to receive all the documents by April 30 for the first quarter of the year, July 30 for the second, October 30 for the third, and January 30 for the fourth)

Scanned copies of the documents can be emailed to orsfidm@utah.gov. or sent in the mail to:
