Out-of-state Child Support Cases
ORS can collect child support from parents outside of Utah. We can do this with new cases and with cases that are already in place.
When the noncustodial parent lives in another state outside of Utah, we will first try to collect the required child support ourselves. If we are not able to collect it, we will work with the other state to enforce the child support order.
The same happens when the custodial parent lives outside of Utah. If the other state is not able to collect, we will open a case at the request of another state. By law, ORS must extend the full range of ORS services to the other state.
